Color Palettes

Standard Color Palettes

Here are the various color combinations that I have tested in the past months and want to keep offering for my ceramics. Each of them is designed with abstract patterns and color strokes inspired by my Italian roots, nature, my travels, the art and culture I like to surround myself with - from artworks to cinema and literature.

Bold was inspired by a flower bouquet that a dear friend of mine gave me for my birthday. The color combination of the autumn flowers fascinated me so much and I had a instant vision of this color palette, with a very dynamic pattern running along the whole surface of the vessels, with a mix of bright colors and bold contrast between warm and cold tones.

I designed Flora during spring 2023, when the magnolia trees had jus started blossoming. Flora is the roman Goddess of spring and flowering plants, and this color palette aims to represent that moment of the year when everything starts growing and thriving again, with overlapping color brushes reminiscent of natural shapes of leaves and petals.

Summer is the perfect depiction of summer vibes: fun, vibrant and bright.
The decoration is made of simple brush strokes of contrasting and vivid colors, creating a light yet lively.

Laguna was the very first color palette I tested on ceramics. I was missing the sea but I was also discovering the beauty of the Swiss lakes. Laguna represents my love for any stretch of water, sweat or salty. A bluish/greenish palette made of overlapping small color strokes, moving along the vessels, mimicking the water movements.

Bonfire is warmth, comfort and relax. I designed it thinking of the Bonfire light art installation of the Dark Matter by Christopher Bauder in Berlin. The installationmade me think of the teenage nights spent sleeping on the beach around a fire and I wanted to convey that feeling of warmth and constant movement of flames.

Evergreen comes from my roots, from the pine forest landscapes surrounding my home and my beloved sea. It is a monochromatic palette of shades of green, warm or cold but always bright, like the foliage of the pine trees throughout the year.

Fall represents the change of seasons, the shift of colours from green to the red typical of autumn. Complementary colours when close together vibrate, reinforce each other and enhance the brightness of the tones, yet creating a delicate harmony. Green brushes are dynamic and fluid, red strokes recall the falling leaves.

I love the sea and the Ocean palette is my love letter to him. An (obviosuly) blue palette of lighter and darker tones to express the many shades of the sea water, whilst the brush strokes aim to evocate the waves and their continous flow.
