About

Ciao!

My name is Francesca, I am an italian artist and designer currently based in Zurich, Switzerland

I have always been quite creative since I was a child, I have always loved to paint and experiment with colours and growing up I developed a strong interest for art and design. This interest led me to study first Architecture and Building Engineering and then to attend a Master in Lighting Design. My passion for light and lighting design led me to live in different cities, first in Milan, then in London and now in Zurich.
As you can imagine, creativity has always been part of my work life, but since the pandemic landed on our heads, I felt the need to leave the computer aside during my free time and start doing something creative with my hands.

During the first lockdown in summer 2020, thanks to a wonderful friend Bea, who started the Meraki Mindful Painting project in London, I discovered my love for painting again and dived into the practice of abstract painting,  experimenting with colours and shapes compositions. Painting became my way to express my inner creativity, to relax and meditate, to explore my imagination without constraints.
A few months later I moved to Zurich and in summer 2021, with the intention of finding a new hobby and new friends,  I attended a pottery crash course. Pottery was something I had always felt curious about - I think I was 5 years old or so when I first watched Gohst, and the scene at the wheel has always fascinated me. I completely fell in love with clay and working at the wheel right away, my curioisty for this craft and the desire to learn have grown enormously. After that, I attended a proper beginner course in Zurich and then started practicing and practicing and attending advanced workshops to improve my skills.

art.felt represents the combination of these two passions, pottery and abstract painting. I design both functional and decorative vessels, taking care of the whole production process, from moulding the clay into specific shapes to decorating the final pieces with unique colour patterns.
I consider every piece I make as unique and my goal is to create with love and care objects that will accompany you in your everyday life - your favourite mug for the first coffee of the day, the bowl you use to eat cherries in summer, the vase that decorates your home, the plant pot you plan to gift to a friend.
